Hello Everyone,
I wanted to share Russ's comments with everyone, and check out that custom-made leather case....so cool.

"I've been buying cars at auction and on the street for well over 20 years as a Professional Broker and I can't imagine doing it without my 311 paint gauge. It amazes me how many times even private sellers are dishonest about prior paint. Just the other day I looked at a Mini Cooper S that was described as a one owner all original paint car.
Admittedly the paint work in the left rear quarter matched pretty well, but after checking it with the 311 gauge it was clear it had been repaired. The owner was quite surprised and embarrassed because he didn't know such an instrument existed. He still has the car by the way.
I watch dealers check for prior paint by running their fingers in the gaps between panels. I assume they're unaware that a paint supply company came out with a product several years ago that eliminates the rough paint edge. This old method is more time consuming and it's ineffective.
Once you buy one of these meters and put it in your car buying routine you'll never buy a car without it. I'd rather forget my cell phone at home than my 311 gauge. At least I won't loose money by over-paying for a car with prior paint.
There are other gauges on the market, simply put, the pros use the 311.
Take all the frustrating guess-work out of car buying and get one of these meters, you'll never regret it.
Here's a couple of pics of the custom leather case I had made for my 311 gauge, that's how much I like it !"
